recent work and a peace star
Pamela had her first experience potting when attending Teachers College. She enjoyed it so much
that she majored in Art, specializing in Pottery. She write: "From childhood I have loved
and been aware of plants and perhaps working with clay was a natural extension
of working with plants and the earth."
Pamela continued her work and studies, having a few year's part-time study at TAFE
to add to her understanding of the technical side of working with clay.
Most of the ceramic work Pamela does these days is wheel thrown.
"My pots reflect my love of plants in that I do enjoy making pots for plants. One style of pot I call an Orchid pot, as originally these were made for holding orchids. The pots I believe complement the orchids and the orchids the pots, a happy symbiotic relationship!
"Now, living on the mountain which I perceive to be a plant-oriented environment,
I am still making pots for plants, but also a diversity of other thrown forms
and a few hand formed coil built pots as well."
Pamela also has another homepage where she is introducing her peace stars as a way of encouraging people in the world to bring peace into their lives. http://peacestar.org
