Ruth was introduced to potting and sculpting in 1977 at the Tweed Unlimited Arts Pottery Group when she was living in Murwillumbah, . In 2002 she and her husband moved to Cedar Vale and joined the Beaudesert Potters group where she has made many new friends and learnt many new skills from them and the professional potters who have held workshops there.

She writes: "I enjoy slip casting and have fun making dolls. I think the best part of working in ceramics is opening the kiln after a firing to discover the wonderful things made from clay. " xent
