The bush of Tamborine Mountain has many amazing national park areas for walking. They're filled with lovely shadows spaces and sounds. Sunlight streaming through vines and leaves, artistic termite trails on a fallen tree, bird calls from invisible singers high above, a sudden rustle of leaves from a lizard, the statuesque shape of a strangle fig reaching skyward, perhaps even a ghostly shadow flitting across the path. Be sure to have a quiet stroll when visitng the mountain! There are usually few people around!!

looking up in the bush is a dizzying effect!

the amazing colours and textures can be found in the bush and along many paths.
It feels like you can walk and look back forever into a cave of light.

the peeling of bark happens every season, showing the power and vulnerability of nature.

The vines in the bush grow everywhere, giving the rainforest a slightly creepy feeling!

the Strangle Fig is usually the tallest tree of the rainforest. It's amazing to see a living record of how one form of life takes over another.

The sudden appearance of this butterfly, though not in the rainforest itself is another humbling reminder that nature is the greatest artist!

Towers of trees, with varied light and patterns.

leaves from one of the many species of palms gives the deepest of greens mixed with yellows. We try to create glazes with just a taste of such beauty and power (and usually fail!)

s skink runs across the forest floor, or in this case, poses in the sun for a moment. Sometimes much larger lizards can be seen!

more contrasts of light and shadow!

Following this path between the trees will take you beyond your dreams.

sometimes unexpected spirites appear in the rainforest moving so fast we can't be sure if we have really seen them.

this piece of rotting wood, shaped by weather, time and termites is perhaps the most beautiful piece in our gallery!

our artists try to capture some of the shapes, light and texture of the rainforest.

they suceed to varying degrees.....
